Hello everyone...

88 vette does not want to start!
It's either the after market alarm system cutting igition off or the starter?
Ignition on (battery is brand new) all lights on and when turning
to start the engine nothing happens?! no click, no sound, no nothing!
however the security light is blinking when trying to start the engine,
isually it blinks than after putting key it stops and it starts, this time
blinks while trying to start...
Does any one have any clue regarding the above issue?

P.S tried 3 different keys (if you have the chip on the key in mind) :--)

Don't have a clue, but the starter would usually provide noise?
...i believe it might be the security system cutting power
out to ignition or the fuel, or the starter?!

should I tow to mechanic or alarm shop??? :--))
let's do a vote :--))

I spent 3 hrs working on it, i even disconnected alarm igition kill, or starter killer, by connecting original wire together, seperating connections
from the alarm wires, did not help.

I had similar issue last year, but it took me 10 min to start it up, playing with the ignition back and forth, this time no luck :--(

Sounds like VATS to me. You can bypass that with a kit from Corvette Central or with a resistor from your local parts store. Just bring your key to your local dealer and get the code from it. Search this section for "VATS" and there will be tons of info on it. I hate to tell you to search I would normally do that to help you but I am running out right now and don't have the time.
Good luck.

Sounds like VATS to me also. You could also have a bad connection in the ignition tumbler, neutral switch, clutch switch, starter, or starter solenoid.

If it cranks over, then the VATS bypass is working. Time to start checking for fuel, spark, air, and compression...in that order. If you have all of these, then check for injector refrence pulses with a noid light. The injector pulses is one of the things the VATS system stops.
