OnStar doesn't mess around.

I signed up for that OnStar diagnostics program they offer over then internet last night. Totally thought the information was going to be off on the webpage, untill i checked it this afternoon.

The OnStar said i lost 3-4psi on all 4 tires, went out in the garage and fired up the air compressor. Turns out this OnStar diagnostics is pretty legit, my air psi guage read the same as the printout, only off by 1psi.

Just an FYI to anyone who thought about using it, it doesn't mess around.

Yeah bro, it was actually scary for a moment how a car could do this.
Nice. So do you have to select a time of day for the daily diagnostic check? And what if you are parked in the garage at that time, can it still communicate with your car?

I have it on the Trailblazer, they email me once a month.
In Australia On Star is used to issue speeding tickets, hmm.

It is being selectively tested for this purpose in Canada, hmm.

You get old like me and you get paranoid - - but you are not, how to put this, tracked by On Star (which they totally deny). Five fingers and one is for On Star.

Wanna test it call in and ask a question while driving and ask them if they can tell you how fast you are going and you will not get a straight answer - - try it.

Bigger question is how can OnStar be disabled? Is there a fuse or harness than can be pulled? After my initial free trial is over that thing is gone.

I'm only using it for the first free months, or whatever the offer is when you buy a new car.

I would assume if you don't pay for the OnStar subscription, you dont get the functions/services.
Just wait until you get the notice that it sees you masturbating. Let me tell you, that is one awkward moment.

It's free for the first year. Just because you don't have an active subscription doesn't mean the system can't be tracked. I'll try pulling the fuse one mine is up.
It comes standard in all 08's. It will be disabled.
