I was at a dealer today trying to close an order for 2008 Z06. The salesman (nice man) advised against ordering Onstar and Navigation, what do you guys think? Also, the dealer, as with everyone else on the net, did not know what was included in the 3LZ option. (I know we will find out at the end of month.)

Dude,

Find a new salesman..... apart from the fact that they will keep your re-sale value higher (options everyone wants) you would be crazy to go without them.... I use my nav system daily and you never know when onstar can come in handy - i smacked up my C6 3-4 weeks ago and i was trapped in the car after the accident - I used onstar to call the police and to call my wife (to let her know i was going to be a little late for dinnner).Both are great options to have.

This may be a repost, and not much new information, but still new to me. Per my dealer the 3LZ option will include the new interior colors, 245 Sienna and 425 Linen that Rick showed us for the 4LT. Also said that the 3LZ may not be available until the fall. They also showed that 3LZ included On-star.

I traded my06 to get a 07 with OnStar, Nav and XM. I am happy with all but XM.

Is your XM hissing at you? Mine does it all the time. Couldn't live without my Nav. It make the dash area look better.

I never had XM or Sirius radio before, but I must say I'm a bit disappointed in the XM radio programming. It's OK, but I was hoping for a lot more, especially after my sister-in-law was constantly raving about how great it was. My wife and I just returned from our first 4000 mile trip, and the XM radio wasn't on that much.

Personally, I'd rather listen to engine anyway.

I do like the Nav system pretty well though.

I don't have much use for XM anymore,comercials all the time and droped nascar.Gonna get a Sirius converter.

To each his own. Had Onstar on an earlier vehicle, don't need it, didn't get it. Didn't get Nav either, the portable units transfer vehicle to vehicle, and allow you to use them on the fly, not only when stopped. And this way I have a 6CD indash, gives 78 HOURS of MY music easily at hand.

Love the OEM NAV....it's become a standard option on any new car I purchase.
