When it's time to replace the Opti-Spark due to age (94k+) or moisture damage (leaky water pump), are we talking about replacing the entire unit or just the cap & rotor? Is the water damage (if any) internal to the aluminum housing?

I'll go ahead and err on the side of caution by replacing the entire unit, but inquiring minds need to know…

When I had the 93 coupe I replaced the entire unit. Along with the water pump , hoses, belt, tensioner and wires. To me it was easier to be on the safe side and while I had everything apart just do it. You'll need an inverted torx socket.
