I am thinking about putting an Optima red top battery in my 95 LT1 couple, but when I checked online, they do not have a listing for my car. Has anyone found one for their car, where do I look, thanks.

They make them, I have one.. you just need the same size that the OEM is, I forget the model # though

My Optima "red top" in my 95 Vette is part number 75/35-925...the Cranking amps are 910....Cold cranking amps are 720....and the reserve minutes are 90......this one has both the normal side mounts used in your car from the factory, and top mounts as well which I use sepperately for my tach and MSD ignition equipment.....the only thing I had to do so it would fit in my car perfectly is take a hand held grinder(I used my makita head porting grinder with a carbide burr...but a dremel or an air grinder with a stone or grinding bit would also work just fine)....and notch the bracket that holds the cruise control diaphram(right above the batterys location).... the positive "top" post on the optima battery would have just touched, or at least(IMO) was a little too close to the metal for safety purposes , I removed about an inch of the cruise control bracket in that area to give plenty of clearance to get a top post battery clamp on and off without removing the battery.........Both mine and a buddies 96 needed the same exact grinding done to the CC bracket, but check to make sure your's needs it first before you break out the grinder:D ...........good luck with it.........Joe:thumbsup:

Thanks JoeB for the info. Can you use a regular battery tender on the red top optima or do you have to purchase a special one? Thanks.
I've always heard nothing special in the way of maintaining or charging was needed for the Optima "red top".....Myself: I use my same battery tender, and charger on them with no problems...........Joe:thumbsup:
