Hi, I was fortunate enough to purchase a 65 convo with 327 /300
Engine. It appears to have had complete resto and engine rebuild . Definitely not showroom quality but pretty good.Problem is that it is driving me nuts with the temperature guage readings.
The guage is reading close to max of 240. I would estimate 235degrees. I used a laser temp meter pointed at the cylinder head at left front of engine under valve covers. The temp there was fluctuating between 235 to 242 degrees. Thermostat appears to be working as the upper radiator hose is firm and hot. Radiator appears to be in good condition but not sure how old may be a new replica of original ,but not an aluminum aftermarket one.
I hear that vettes os this age run hot but what do u guys think.
What would be your first step. Thanks RICH
