I'm considering having my black 01 zo6 repainted.

I've had one quote...but I have no clue what questions to ask or the best way to shop for paint work.

Of course, seeing examples of their other work is a no brainer...but what else?
Brand of paint?
Clear coat?
guarantee?

any one able to help me with steps in the best way to shop for auto paint work

Disassembly.. This is a really big one in my opinion. Are they going to take the car apart to get a better finished product.

Examples... Removing tail lights, marker lights, headlights, door and window seals and the such...

Not to mention, are you going with the same color or a new color, if a new color, door jams and exposed areas...

Tons of things to consider....

I'm going with the same color. The one quote I got said disassembly. I should get more detail regarding what they include as far as disassembly.

I had some nose damage to my Magnetic Red '05. They disassembled and even wound up bringing in a GM-DuPont paint specialist, but they did not do a good job of matching up the paint. Very disappointing.....
