Passport G-Timer (GT2), claims to do the following:
With the New Passport G-Timers from Escort, monitoring your vehicles performance has never been easier. Now you can accurately measure horsepower, 0-60 times, 1/4 times runs, acceleration, cornering, & braking G-forces, including friction circle. For drag race, autocross, track event or road race enthusiasts, the G-Timers can measure your vehicle's performance as you change components, set-up, or driving styles.

Has anyone used it and are you satisfied...is it worth the money?

Thanks

First I'd heard of it.

I'd like to see a "Shootout" between the G-Tech and this new G-Timer.

This is my first post here, looks like a great forum. I got my Passport GT2 timer last Tuesday from detectors4less.com, this is my first purchase for my new 50th coupe. GT2 timer works great and is very easy to use. Not sure if my car weight is correct (used 3500 lbs.), but I've made about a dozen 1/4 mile street runs this week, best time is 13.45 @ 109mph (most runs were in the 13.6 to 13.8 range). From what I've heard, mid-thirteens are reasonable for stock 2003 c5's, so I'm thinking the GT2 timer is pretty accurate. I have it mounted in front of the speedometer/tach which works great since the GT2 is only about 1 1/2" deep (it blocks the speedometer and tach, but I use the heads-up display anyway). It has a remote switch on the 12Vplug-in which is very convenient.

I bought it so I could tell if any of the mods I'm planning on actually did anything.

Welcome to the DC family Radiant Heat.

You may want to adjust your input on the curb weight of your vehicle. The actual curb weight is only 3214 lbs. for a 2003 coupe.

Has anybody have more opinion on this passport GT2 and/or the GTech Pro Competition?

Do these things really work well enough to bother? It seems that the GTech site has quite a few caveates on accuracy for HP/TQ. I'm most interested in 1/4 mi, but would like a way to confirm performance upgrades.

Also, do you have to do your runs in a straight line, or is a curved road ok?
