Pfadt Impressions

As a follow-up, coilovers received and installed with Pfadt’s Racing Camber Adjustment Kit, realigned to accommodate the customization along with a differential fluid change to GM’s latest.

To note… what an incredibly noticeable improvement in driving the car these past several days, it handles like a Learjet, no longer jittery over expansion joints in the road, and on/off ramps prove to be equally pleasurable in taking on resulting in a smooth and controllably steady feel. Ride is firm yet very comfortable, and though Pfadt recommends beginning at 6 the installer set them at 8 on all four corners, cannot be more pleased with the effect. The Corvette feels entirely different in manner given in part to the coilovers, realignment, and a revised center of gravity – whereby substantially lowered.

Additionally, can’t say enough good things about the deal or the fine people at JDP Motorsports (vendor) and will recommend as well as purchase future items. Insomuch as Fall-Line Motorsports (installer) is concerned – if anybody locally is interested, it goes without saying with those familiar, a "top-shelf" organization of highly skilled personnel knowledgeable in setting up a Corvette et al. for various performance levels because that’s all that they do is service high-end performance vehicles for the street as well as actual race cars for the track.

Incidentally, if anybody’s contemplating this modification but hesitating because of the holes that need to be drilled, worry not. They are NOT nearly as big as illustrated or recommended in Pfadt’s literature (1" diameter), holes were sized to ½" along with plugs to seal them.

PS: Knowing now by experience how coilovers affect a vehicle, aside from all the literature read about them, would’ve made it the very first modification because it certainly does change the vehicle’s handling character into a much more superior attitude.

Very very awesome review and information Zotic!!

We really appreciate the kind words and I am so glad we could help you out! These coilovers make a WORLD of a difference, especially when set-up and dialed in by people who know what they are doing, which it definitely sounds like you found! They really shine, like you said, on the bumps and jitters on roads, especially around sweeping corners such as off ramps. They just make the car feel like it is following rails.

Congratulations on getting them installed and set-up, and I am super happy to hear that you are enjoying them! (your car looks great with the coilovers by the way ;))

Also, that clarification on the two small holes was a nice addition, as some people may be leery about drilling their car! But it is not as bad or pronounced as some may believe.

Anyway, congrats again on the install, it sounds like you love them! Thank you again for the business and kind words. Don't hesitate to contact us if anything comes up in the future, or if you have any questions with the coilovers down the road. Awesome follow-up!!

Kind regards,

What are the holes used for? What size should they be, 1/2 or 1 inch? Is there a template with the kit to correctly position them?

Thanks

Hey K wright,

The holes are used to adjust the damper settings in the rear. You basically will use a short allen wrench (provided with the coilovers) through the hole to adjust. We usually make them about 1/2 inch when we install them. And yes, the instructions help you put them EXACTLY where you need to

Let me know if you have any other questions! Thanks!

Regards,
