Hello all,

Looking at buying my first Corvette, and want a C5. I have a couple in mind at the moment, but have a question of you all that are in the know. One is a 2001 coupe, other a 2002 Convertible. coupe has 134,000 Miles, and vert has 121,000. How long does a LS1 engine last? I know it depends on many factors, but in general is that about the end of the life for this engine? Also does 16-17K sound fair for a price on either?? They both have tan interior(I assume they mean light oak), the coupe is white, and the vert is blue. Coupe has HUD.

Just a quick, reply with your feelings would help me a lot since I am not well educated on these C5 Corvettes.

Thanks!
BT

Well, yes, thats a fine idea, only problem is as the mileage goes down the price sky rockets on these cars. I have around $17K to spend. I don't mind doing an engine rebuild down the road, but want to know 1) how soon on Average is that, and 2) How much does that add to the value of a C5 in this age group?

Kelley Blue Book for 2002 Convertible , RETAIL in GOOD shape:
(my area code)

121,000 miles = $21K :D
90,000 miles = $23.5K
70,000 miles = $27K
30,000 miles = $30.8K ! :surprised
