Welcome to DC. The first thing I'd do is hook up a vacuum gauge to see what vacuum I had at idle and at speed. If the vacuum is not sufficient y9u could always go with a hydro booster. Hydro booster work off of the power steering pump. This is common in the street rod community
Poor braking at highway speeds.
When I had my 350 re-built after I set my '69 on fire a while back, I had a slightly more aggressive cam installed. Since then have noticed that my braking performance on the highway is very poor. I'm reasonably sure it has to do with reduced vacuum at speed as a result of the cam; but how can I resolve this issue? Could it be something as simple (HAH!) as a new vacuum booster?

A vacuum canister captures extra engine vacuum (approximately double the volume of vacuum available), recommended for cars with 14 inches of vacuum or less (Comp Cams). Hydroboost is more costly, and weighty IF you intend to race. JMO.
