I have an issue, and I'm wondering if the problem is that the power piston spring is to stiff.

I have a q-jet and the issue I'm having is that if I go from a stop, to WOT, and then to full brakes (I have PB, if I disconnect booster I don't have this issue), the RPM's drop and it stalls.

After is stalls, it kind of acts like it is flooded. Could this be a problem of the power piston spring being too stiff? Or would that indicate an improper idle mixture screw setup, or a bad brake booster (to try and fix the problem, I just replaced the brake booster check valve, but that didn't have any effect).

Thanks,
Matt

If the problem goes away when you disconnect the brake booster, then you have narrowed it down.

Cut .5" from the ends of all the vacuum lines from the manifold to the booster. Check the condition of the port seal on the booster itself, and see if it solves the problem.

If it still exists, and disconnecting the booster is still a solution, then your booster is leaking internally.
