Just about any push button will work. Just maky sure the amperage rating is high enough. All you are doing is tripping the solenoid on the starter, not running the completet starter.

I can remember the 40's and early 50's and the cars had pushbutton start and 6 volt batteries.

Find out how much current you starter solenoid requires and get a switch that will handle at least twice that much. You might look at manufacturers of large generators etc. I have seen pretty chrome starter pushbuttons on them.

I think Triumph TR-3's were about the last cars with push button start..... around 1960

Chech the electronic supply stores. Allen-Bradley or IDEC have them that are about 1-1/16" in diameter and have chrome bezels and will say "START" usually rated at 600V and 30 amps. More than enough

Look for the Honda S2000 push button. A bunch of guys on LS1.com were installing those on their SS's and it looked awesome. I was going to install it myself.....I think the button is like $40 and you can wire it right into your underdash wiring for the ignition. If you search LS1.com you'll be able to find the wiring schematic they used as well.

Good luck and post pics please!:partyon:

Or turn one of your horn buttons into a push start button, just hook up a relay. I was thinking about doing this for my nitrous purge. :D

One of my neighbors is a push....never mind;)
You've been talking about your neighbors a lot recently. Why not just hire a hitman?

Wait til you settle in to a place and get your own neighbors.

I'm working on a comedy routine, neighbors make great material.

Our village's motto which appears on all correspondence and advertising and vehicle tags is "Village of Friendship".

My subdivision has 33 lots. 2 are still vacant. 31 neighbors. I was the 3rd person to move in. I wouldn't be surprised if one of "da naybers" IS a hit man! One in particular. They're not all bad.

Farm supply stores here have a push button for a starter that is 1/2" in diameter. It is chromed and would handle the amps. Less than $10.
