I'm rebuilding my 88. It's got a Dana 36 rear. I'm looking at 450-500 hp.
I want to have the ability to cruise at low rpm; I'm gonna have WAY more torque than I need to scorch the tires, so I really don't need to go up in rear end gear ratio.

Zip corvette has a modified Dana 36 that's reinforced like the 44.

Do I want to go that route?
How do I get a STRONG rebuilt rear end with a gear ratio around 3.07? I can't find any and need your help finding some folks that can do that.
Or do I just have to bite the bullet and convert to a Dana 44 rear?

Appreciate your input

I would go to the D-44 if you can find one.
Buy a used one and have it rebuilt
