Do I need a "fax modem"? A software program?

My Windows XP has a fax program in it, but says I need a fax modem.

What do I really need? Using dial-up for the web, do I have to be off-line to fax?

Thanks,

Rudy, I use e-fax to send and receive.

It's cheap, and any faxes that come into your fax# (which they will give you) come right to your e-mail.

This is important so I can receive faxes on the road.

:agree: I use something similar at work, probably thru an exchange server, but having the fax on your pc is sooooo much nicer. It's clearer, and then you can send it to people without having to scan it. Technology is great!! :partyon:
