I'm getting new seat skins (covers) for my 98 coupe with sport seats, has anyone recovered there seats and how hard is the job?

BUMP I'm interested in seeing this process, as my driver seat has had my 220 pound but in it for 70K miles!! :laughing: Where did you buy the new skins??

I've replaced the foam in both sport seats. Fairly easy to do.
I used Vette Essentials web site instructions as a guide to remove the seats and the covers.

If you are not already doing so, consider replacing the foam in your seats especially if you have some miles on the car.

One thing to consider is the new leather will be tight going on.

Best of luck and post some pictures when you are done.

Note the outside (left in picture) how broken down the lower seat is.

The seat cover was not worn through, just the foam.

MUCH better...


Here you can see the dark rub line just above the seat trim bezel.
The new foam raised the seat that much.

i did them to my sport seats....a little tight getting on but now they look great

i only did it because i wanted to save the original seats

Thanks everyone for your help and advice, I ( my wife) installed the new skins and they look good, I'm very happy the way they turned out.
