there i was enjoying a nice ride in the local strip mall. i pass through an intersection and see a M6 to my left, he takes off and gives it some gas, i take off. we're going down the tight road neck and neck, i could have gone faster but i was focusing more on dodging pedestrians, he starts to pull ahead and im thinking "no way not tonight" i give it my all, shift to top gear and start walking him. i blow through the next intersection vearing to the other side of the road to avoid turning cars, he never caught back up. guess the ultimate driving machine was no match for american muscle...

:D Leg muscle that is:

what did you think? Im some kind of monster?

I was mentally trying to figure out how you werent pulled over. Then i saw the bike.

actually ive been pulled over twice while on my bike last year, the first was for speeding... 28 in a 20 in that mall, i thought it was bogus but the officer was nice and merely asked me to slow it down. about a month later i was stuck behind some old geezer going slow so i proceded to pass him, weaved through a few more cars, blew through a stop sign and managed to add another notch to my car passing belt in the intersection. the cop was on the side of the road and gave me the whole production, lights siren and yelling through the PA, he was pretty pist and said i was lucky to not be arrested and that i shouldn't bike ride there anymore. i wanted to say "your lucky i slowed down for you" but knew that would get ugly fast, plus it had gotten too busy with people to make a speedy escape. needless to say ive been going to the same mall 3-4 times a week for 2 hours trying to keep my speed above 15mph and havent had a problem.

im not a menace, well ok i guess i am, i people dodge frequently and have probally given a few motorists an excuse to buy new undies with the maneuvers ive pulled such as high speed turns with an exit point putting me 2 feet next to a moving car. i have never hit anyone and have actually stoped a few accidents by reminding some people of posted stop signs. ive built my bike up well from the gorund up with really good brakes, i can stop from 30mph (fast as **** on a bike) in about 15 feet, ive only done this once when a motorist randomly decided to make a left where it said "no left turn" with no signal mind you, gave me a scare. i slow down always for children and sometime stop if its a tight area. i turn down my music (i hooked up laptop speakers for a makeshift system) for the elderly and none of my music has obscene lyrics.

i know i know, why bikeride in a busy outdoor mall, especially when i have bikepath 10 minutes away? because the bikepath gets old, when i did 10 miles out and back in under an hour it felt like forever, but in the mall traffic dodging and thinking up pass stradegies on the fly is a blast, plus its a hangout for all the cute girls (chicks dig bikers ;))

its hard to outrun cars, my bike is a mountain bike and tops out at like 30 due to weight and big tires, id like to get a hold of a racing bike and then beable to cruise at 35-40 :D i have beaten many rich kids with go-peds who thought they were kings, until i walk them

This is a great story. It's hard for me to envision this. My bike riding always consisted of riding in the woods and on no traffic streets. Cool read. You need some gears smaller tires man, then give that cop hell. You thinking about juicing the engine?

I know exactly what you are talking about.

Me and a few friends in Rapid City go on what we call "Townies"

Where you take a $10 70's road bike and tear through down town RC.
We start in a group until someone takes off and then the chase is on. The key is to cut in front of traffic to loose people. We haven't gotten in any accidents and we haven't been stopped by the cops... key word "stopped"

It always makes for a fun time, and gives you a great work out.
