With overseas investors, sure.
Other than that, you only add wealth to the top 2 percent and tie up local money in paper in banks.
In normal times the rich don't plop their money in the banks - they invest it in businesses in order to maximize returns. The vast majority of these bad bank run investments were by the big pension plans and those types of investors that actually serve the middle class. How are you going to punish the rich investors without also punishing these middle class investments? You can't. Why not do what has always worked best and let everyone make as much money as they can? Times are hard but they will likely get better. Don't screw up future opportunities forwealth creation by regulating based on the worst of times.

So... the sunset provision was a trap for democrats ? -and not what we have come to understand them as ? -A "bargaining" to get the democrats to vote in near unanimous numbers ?

For somebody to be claimed as a complete and hopeless idiot... Bush is quite the genius.

Alan Colmes is probably one of the most angry libs you'll come across. I listen to his radio show several nights a week and it's hard for him to hide his anger and disdain for anyone who doesn't believe the way he does. When presented with evidence that his point of view is jaded he often backs out by saying, "I never heard about that" and then he continues on spewing his garbage. He often makes statements with no valid proof to back them up. Once I saw the heading across the top of the page in that link I didn't bother to continue because I'm sure it's another boring less than accurate point to be made by him and those who follow his garbage.
