Reverse switch on your shifter (man or auto) is broken, or has loose wire.

My bet's on the wire. It's happened to me before.

Just happened to my 00. One of 2 things. There is a fuse in the pannel in side the car, marked auto trans shift lock, and I think it is fuse 21. I am not home so I cannot be sure of location, PM me later if you can not find it. That fuse can be blown. If the fuse blows again, then the switch on the MN6 is bad and will need to be replace. Took me 2 weeks to find the problem because of the way the fuse pannel is marked.
