Checked with Chevy dealer and he said these stripes are available at 110
per side.

I’m seriously thinking about putting them on my white C6. I know that they
were made for the ZO6. Has anyone tried putting them on a C6?

The ZO6 has a curved fender so I would assume that a little bit would have
to be cut off to make them end up right at the top. Without cutting them,
they would probably extend too far over the fender.

Of course, I’d have the Chevy body shop put them on. (In case they
screwed up they could order me new ones.)

I’ve seen these on a white ZO6 and think they really give a great racing and
sport flare! What do you guys think about this?

I think it would look good. I have seen C6s with the GS Stripes.

$110.00 for vinyl? :surprised Save yourself some money. Contact a local sign
maker and install them your self.
That’s 110 for each side. 220 total. Don’t know what the dealer would
charge for install. Probably 50-100.

Are you saying that a sign maker could simply cut them out and stick
them on? That may be a great idea! I wonder if one of our forum
dealers would be kind enough to give us their exact measurements.

I posted earlier that I thought some vendor would jump on this and make
them without the Ron Fellows logo. I would prefer that. I like Ron, but
think the logo isn’t that well known to the general public and it somewhat
distracts from the appearance. (The logo’d stripe looks a little different
from the others.)

My car is an 06 and I plan to trade for an 08 as soon as they’re available
which may be in 2-3 months. What effect do you think the stripes on
my white C6 would have on my trade-in value? Could they actually make
it look like a hotter, “special” car? (I know I’m not going to “fool” the
dealer, but, they can be influenced by “resale image.”)

The stripes are meant to signify Ron Fellows Canadian herritage. So, I guess the resale image depends on how it looks and if the dealer likes Canadians.

there is so much detail in the stripes 110 per side isn't that bad all you are gonna get from a sign maker is a couple of plain stripes, anything custom designed is gonna end up costing you a lot more than 220.

Custom work isn't hard at all. I worked in the vinyl business for quite a while. Throw some vinyl on the cutter and do everything up on the computer, have it cut out the design, remove the excess and you've got custom stripes. Given the size of the stripes maybe $50 on the insane high end and $20 for an install. Dealers are just ripping you a huge one.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.

I believe I’ll try with a vinyl shop because I’m going to have to do a little
trimming anyway to make up for the Z06’s flared fenders.

It’s funny, I can’t even remember their color. I think they were red. I know
the car was white. I believe they are only put on white cars.

Can someone please refer me to a Ron Fellows car pic for review? I know
they’ve been posted several times.

(And, I’m still hoping that one of our forum dealers will post the stripe’s
dimensions. I’d measure them but don’t know where there’s a RF car.

By the way, other than the stripes, what else does the RF car have? (I’m
sure that’s been posted, too, if I just knew where to find it.)

big jim,
why are you so eager to trade your 06 for an 08? supposed to be the most changes (or improvemnets to the c6) do u have inside info you can share? since rick conti's site is not back up, our inside corvette info has dried up, and since the improvements from my 06 to 07 Z06, i can see each year the improvements.
just curious?

Oh no. I know nothing!

Just what I’ve read. I kinda like to keep updated on my cars.
I, too, am anxious to hear about the changes. However, just
further enhancement of the glove box wouldn’t exactly thrill
the cockles of my heart.

Guess we’ll learn ALL about changes from the Vette party in
Bowling Green on 4-26.

I'm sure a local sign maker could cut a few strips of red vinyl for less than 220.00. Either that or you could buy the prepackaged vinyl hood stripes (you can find a roll for about $15 at Autozone), cut them to the appropriate size, paint them red, and install them yourself! It's super simple (I know from experience ;)).
...or you could just pass-up the whole idea.

Thank you Todd. However, those stripes don’t look
“quite” the same. Maybe just my imagination but
they seem a little more narrow and closer together
than the originals.

And, if you know, do the two come as one for each
side?

They are separate stripes (2 per side). They can be done in any width you want and in any color you want.

Just remember, the RF stripes aren't just red. They're red with a Canadian Maple leaf on it, and Ron Fellows signature. Plus, they aren't just red. They;re red with a silver border around them. I think just plain red with the silver border would look killer on white. And since you live in Fla. why would you want a canadian symbol on your car?

I definately do NOT!

That’s why I really prefer plain ones. I just like
the “dimensions and color” of the RF ones.

But, maybe some new stripe availability will be in
one of the new option packages. That would be nice.
