Once I sandblast the birdcage and fix the rust on it I need to protect it before painting and putting all the panels back on. I have come across these products:

http://www.interstateproducts.com/rustkiller.htm

http://www.therustdoctor.com/index.html

http://www.phoenixpaints.com.au/m_04_01.html

Do you folks have any experience with any of them? It seems like they all double as a primer that can be filled and painted over. Any feedback would be appreciated. BTW, this is a driver and will never be NCRS judged, so appearances take a back seat to rust protection, especially in Florida.

I have never used any of those products but I have used Neutra-rust a product from Plastikote. I put it on a Z car I had and didn't even cover it with primer or paint for a good two months and surface rust didn't even appear. It brushes on white and turns to black suppose to convert or neutralize the rust.
