Great minds think alike! I was pondering this the other day... but thought it was far to large of an undertaking for just one man.MIKESHARDTOP said:I dont know about you guys but i think Digital Corvettes should come out with a bi-monthly magazine. It would sure give Motor Trend a run for its money on the C-6 section. How much money would it take to do a small magazine with only like 20-30 pages?? Any magizine managers out there in DC land.. any connections? .... just a thought... (or maybe i had too much unbaked creme' bruley' for thanks giving)
THAT is exactly the point. The big car rags - MT, C&D and R&T - have contacts and unofficial "leakers" inside all of the car corps. Several months prior to the C5 release, MT published drawings that were almost dead on. Only difference was the the scallops over the tail lights that were CHANGED by GM at the last moment. MT was not shy about pointing this out to establish their creditability with their last C6 guess that was ugly and wrong. Let's assume that they had to lock the presses two months ago for this issue. That's only 3 months before release. Sorry, I can't see cutting them any slack. They, and the other car mags blew it. Thank heavens for ISLANDHOPER!!!!Davidat911 said:While I agree that's a pretty poor article in Motor Trend, I can't help but cut them SOME slack. They had to have everything set for that issue a long time ago, before the "boat shop" pics and the San Fran pics were available.
