You won't belive the Cobra in the other lane is running a 12psi Vortec SC and dr's. When I saw him before the run, I thought for sure he'd be in the low 12's or mid 11's. All the runs he made looked like this one, as well, it wasn't just a fluke.Check it out:

13.76!!!!
Man you can hear that SC spooling like crazy.I thought he was sandbagging but I ran again and same results, and all the other runs he made. He did manage a 13.4 late in the night.:surprised Maybe someone here can tell me what year the car looks to be, I think it's a 02-03, but could be a little older.

It is a '94 to '98. Are you sure it is a Cobra and not a GT? Not that it matters that much. Most of the Cobras in the '90s are under 300 hp.

The rear bumper had COBRA embossed and it had snakes instead of horses. Of course, all that can be swapped...but thats what it had.

He was definitely having trouble at the light. Not that it was going to make a diff in the run. But could have got him in the 12's. Nice to see a kill on the strip and not the street. keep up the safe racing.

Thanks. I must admit, I used to street race quite a bit, especially when I was younger, but alot of the "kill vids" aren't even really street racing, what skill does it take to go from a 50-70MPH roll and push down the accelerator?I've always gotten junk from road racers that drag racing is for the unskilled, but last night there was a sports car club at the track(auto x'ers and road racers) and no one did worth a diddley. Some of these You Tube legends( in their own minds) would see the light(tail lights, that is ) at a track, be it strip or road course. Thanks again for the compliments and yes, I'm older and wiser and I leave those big, nasty tickets for the import and [email protected]$$ crowd to get now and take mine to the track:thumbsup:

That looks to be an older model. Even with a supercharger he most likely didn't put out more than about 375 at the best. If you listen closely it sounds like he was having belt slip.

He said he dyno'd at 520 to the wheels. The set up looked nice, the blower was much larger than the unit I used in my 2000 TA from procharger. The blower wasn't his only mods, but the most noticable one.He mentioned that he upgraded his fuel system, programming and exhaust.

I can't tell if the hood has the nostril scoops or not. If stock, that would determine if it was a 4.6 or 5.0. The 94-95 Cobra's came in red but it was torch red I think and that color looks to be laser red. Regardless, it's very easy to make 400+rwhp on a DOHC 4.6 with boost. Those engines love boost. Though my Cobra was an 03, the DOHC motors have always loved boost.

It had the two little round heat extractor looking thingys at the back of the hood. While I don't mind racing whoever at the strip, mustangs seem to be mostly whats there. I'd love to line up with more vettes and vipers, but not many run their's here.

Evilways after watching your video from you taking off on your launch your car takes off kinda slow like my car does with no spinning of the rear tires are you flooring it right away or gradualy taking off than flooring it. I just feel these autos should be alot stronger off the line especially with the mods and power that we have.My car is a slug coming off the line but from any roll it runs great.

That is torque management, my friend.....the better you hook, the worse it'll be from a hard launch, no matter if you tune or not, alot of it still is embedded into the programming. I'm gonna try the gradual technique next time at the track, it's good for a tenth off the 60 ft from what other have told me.

That was 98 cobra with a really bad driver. He was alseep on the line...
Without a driver, the car wouldn't have moved at all....... Yes...he was suckin' and he did shave a tenth or two off over the time he was there, mostly from his launch. I still can't belive , with that much boost and work done to the car, 13's is his times......crazy,man!

Boosted stangs have serious traction issues, I had a 03 cobra with 16psi that made 510rwhp/496torque and I could never hook. I had drag radials with 10psi in them and it would still light them up.

If you've followed my video posts or read my kills, you'll probally see a pattern...a long line of killed boosted Mustangs...lol.....everything from "terminators" to GT500s to good ol' garden variety GTs w/ SCs. My local track is always filled to the gills with 'stangs, so it's kinda like shooting fish in a barrel, only fish don't make up excuses for being shot.:spanked:

I'm not doubting your car's ability to kill a boosted stang. I am just stating a simple fact. That car should have and could have run 12s with the right driver and some good DRs.
