The claim is that when a Tech2 is installed on the Corvette PCM, it will read the CVN's that are on the PCM.

The techs are required to pull up that CVN and VIN number info onto a screen on the Tech2 take a picture of it and blindly email that into GM to see if it is correct or not and then they return an email with a decision to proceed or not with warranty work.

GM can see that numbers in the tune and if they don't match exactly because of the rounding within the tuning software, GM voids the warranty.

For instance, when the STOCK FILE is saved, the tuner programs might round to .045555556 in HP Tuners, SCT Tuners or EFI Live. When the GM Tech II then reads .045555556 as not matching the factory .045555555555555 , your warranty is VOIDED.

If the above is true, which I am inclined to think it is. Then once someone gets a tune, even if they "flash" back to stock, it will still void your warranty as the stock file will never resemble the original stock file.
