Hi, I have a 2002 vette. I rebuilt this car about 15 month ago. I have replaced all air bags, sdm (airbag computer), and the pcm. After installing the new pcm I went throught the re-learn process and the car would start, run, and drive. The only problem I have now is that I can't turn off the airbag light, this is due to an unrecognized vin stored in either the new pcm, the new sdm or both. I'm not sure if the vin gets programmed into the sdm or not, hence my need for help. Will I have to reprogram my original vin into the pcm, sdm, or both? My scan tool gives me a code b1001 specifying a vin difference that prevents the sdm code from being cleared. Does this have to be done at the dealer? Any help would save me some hassle and hopefully some bucks too, this has become a little more expensive than I had planned for. Still worth it though. Thanks
