....seemed like it was running kinda weak, so I opt for the
MSD opti-spark, MSD blaster coil, MSD plug wires, clean and
tested the injectors, cleaned and replace gaskets in throttle
body, changed the fuel and air filters

....was having a issue with a 2yr old new ACDelco opti-spark
thats why I started it, also found out my water pump was
getting ready to take a dump, also sent out the valve covers
for powder coating.....

....never got any pics because my mechanic was to busy and I
did not have the time....

....HOLY CRAP.....she is just screaming after the 2000 rpm
line...thats with 154000 miles on it, and compression where
it should be..........:partyon: :partyon:

Keep us up to date on that opti and coil. Seems to be alot of people complaining about MSDs quality lately.

I would't worry about it just something to think about. All products have their bad stories just something I'm curious about.
....the only thing about the MSD opti-spark was they did not
make a OEM connector for it, called MSD tech help and was
told that on a 92 you have to HOT WIRE it in, so the tech guy
gave us the wiring color sequence code and the mechanic
solder in the OEM connector then heat shrinked the wires
I was kinda worried but he did such an excellent job you
would never know it was not original connection....so I guess
you'd say that was the BAD thing....:D

....I made sure that MSD would honor the warranty before
selecting to go this route, I did not get that in writing but
I have the names and their job titles that gave the go ahead,
my understanding that in the future they will be putting in a
OEM connector for this application, never gave me a reason
why as to no connector in the box.....

UPDATE w/Pics

....well I found the camera a little late after the install, but I
figured I would snap a couple of pics...

....so far everything has been running supreme, tons of
response from the pedal, a crisp..smooth idle and I'm keeping
tabs on fuel consumption..won't know for a couple of more
weeks but it appears to be getting better mileage..the gauge
does not move as fast as it did before

....from the 2000 rpm line it has a fantastic acceleration, way
more than the old set up, I've gotten to play with a few other
cars going home but after we take off they back off........it is extremely quick....:partyon:

....the valve covers were powder coated for me, far better than
the spray can job the last mechanic did on them....

....I would recommend this set to anyone: MSD Pro-Billet
Distributor, MSD Coil, MSD Wires 8.5

Hey 92Roadster,

Wow, that motor compartment doesn't look like it has anywhere close to 154,000 miles on it. Looking good and I love the valve covers.

I was thinking the same thing. Do you have a regimen for keeping it that clean or is that the result of a major clean-up?
