Hi Group,

I have a SBC 78 C3 with the Steeroids upgrade. (Which is great by the way!)

I'm thinking of converting from standard full length headers to side pipe headers.
Has anyone done this? If so did you have any problems? I would hate to order the
headers and have them not fit due to interference with the R&P.

Thanks in advance!

I installed a Steeroids kit on a 1974 Corvette that already had Hooker side mount headers and side pipes installed.

I'm not going to say it wasn't easy, but they do work together.

We had to bend one header tube about .5" out of the way for the steering shaft path.

some will work just fine while others wont. the reason is apparently the holes that the original steering box bolted to that the steeroids braket also bolts to is not always in the exact place on every car.

case in point my friend did not have to do anything to put his steeroids kit on, however I had to grind part of my crossmember down to install it because one of the screws was hitting it.

but its nothing you cant overcome.

you need to get up with josh at custom image corvettes, his sidepipes are way cheeper and better setup for the aftermarket upgrades
