Its a Risk we all choose to take in different paths.from what I have been told by several top name Corvette drag racers is that the C6 Z06 diff is good all day into the 8s and the ZR1 diff is good all day into the 6s. Mark Carlyle makes about 3000hp and runs a glide/ZR1 diff combo. Him and I also talked quite a bit about trans and diff choice and as long as I don't have aspirations of sub 8-sec passes I would be just fine with a built C6 Z06 diff.
He also said that I could take a 4L65 reliably into the 9s with no issues- as long as I didn't want to get into the 8s. Then a 4L80 becomes the better option.
