Ohh man, I need to do this badly, but it looks like a real PITA! I have only had my car 4 months or so, but I have a feeling they have been on it forever!
Any tips or tricks on this job? Or is it not as bad as it may appear?
I had the same first impression, on my LT1 but its not all that bad if you have ramps or a lift, as they are slightly easier to install in the distributor cap from below in some cases, and yeah its a P.I.T.A. but it can be done.
now just some info.
its an involved and expensive process but the LT1 can be converted from the OPTI-CRAP ignition to the older rear distributor OR the more modern LS1 direct fire system, using a coil for each cylinder
example heres an LT1 intake matched to a 1987 camaro distrib
