The only automatic that would stand up to that kind of power would be a sequential gearbox. A slushbox has no chance of handling that much torque (unless they use an Allison 1k series 6-speed )

Lets hold this one open

The current 6A in the Vett has a very high input rating, in excess of 650hp and a lot of torque, as I recall. Further, the folks at LPE have a few Vetts on the street that produce in excess of 650 hp with the 6A - they report NO problems with the 6A trans. MB builds a WHOLE lot of very high output engined cars, ALL have auto.

The application of an auto, along with traction control and stability control is how MB keeps its customers alive! It may well be the way GM has chosen to solve the traction issues with this car.

Lets keep this one open until we see the car itself.

Rick,

The image you've used there is mine and you don't have permission to use it in ANY form. Brenda and I have talked to you about this kind of thing before. Please remove it from the corvetteconti.com server immediately.

Thanks,

Chris
Wouldn't something like that be much more suitable for an official e-mail and not in a public forum?

On another note, I'm on that list for the SS, right Rick?:) I remember we talked but just checking. And if they do offer an auto tranny for the SS I would have such a hard decision when this thing comes out. I live in a high traffic area and an auto tranny makes life easy. I just don't like the loss of hp that comes from any auto tranny, no matter how sofisticated it is. Decisions decisions:huh:

Usually, yes. However, in the past, Rick hasn't often responded to emails about this kind of thing and we're fairly tired of him doing it. So it's his own action that dictates how we try to handle it.

Hmmm, nothing like waking up to a little discipline by humiliation to start your day. All though, I probably would have slept on the decision to take said coarse of action, as I'm not known for good decision making in the wee hours of the morning when I'm PO either.

Usually If someone doesn't return my email, I then give them a personal call.

That's usually a sign that your serious, if they're close I show up in person.

If that don't work, I'll be happy to publicly embarrass you. :spanked:

If you are dispointed in Rick, then you must know of him from these forums. And if you know him off the forums then you have either been lurking or have posted before. Either use your actual name and be a man about it or if this your first post, it is a pretty retarded first post on these forums imo. I have no respect for people who hide just to make an insult.

As to Chris_Doane, rickv is completely right. A lot better ways to handle a situation and get what you need done then going the public course of action. You should have gotten a hold of Rick personally and talked to him instead of doing it in a public place. It shows a gross lack of professionality and, since by your signiture, since it seems that you have some sort of company, you should know better.

I don't post very often on these forums although I have been creeping for a long time, but I felt the need to call some people out on this one. It pays to be civil. And btw drams, caps lock is not cruise control to cool.

These forums are about people becomming friends and sharing information about something they are passionate about and love. Lets try and keep the drama off these pages so that everyone ends up happy, because if its drama I wanted I'd hop in a time machine and go back to high school. Stay civil, happy, and continue to enjoy the greatest car on earth with some of the best people on earth.

As I already said, contacting Rick in other ways about this kind of matter hasn't done much in the past.

Stealing someone else's property for use in their own business is "gross lack of professionality."
