Now I have another problem. They never seem to end. My horn won't work with the button. I've replaced all the components associated w/this in the column. The tail, front parking, brake and blinker lights all work, but the hazzard lights only work in the front! If I turn on the hazzard lights and put the turn signal switch in either position, the front hazzards both work but only the side the blinker is switched to in the rear. Also sometimes if I jiggle the hazzard switch, the horn works. I've checked the wiring to the horn relay and it is good. Also I put in a new relay. I can't seem to figure out how to get into the steering column to access the turn signal switch!! Does anybody know where I can find directions on how to disassemble the column? My assembly manual doesn't even go there. I figure while I'm in there I'll tighten up the tilt-tele mechanism too. Sorry for the long thread but I'm frustrated at this point!!!

Thanks Mike!!! I used the directions in the link and got the column apart enough to test the turn signal switch and the hazard switch doesn't test good. No continuity where it's supposed to be when it should be there. Got another switch coming in tomorrow. Also I found an extra ignition switch lock ring ( the piece that presses on the end of the cylinder and has a stop tab on it) floating around behind the ign. switch? I guess maybe the switch was forced out at some time. There was grease all over the contacts for the horn so I hope a good cleaning will take care of that.

Piece of cake there. I just tied a piece of SS mechanic's wire on the harmonica connector before taking it up through the column and used it to guide the new one back through. The only thing was I didn't drop the column and I couldn't get the new connector over the bracket on the bottom of the column where it bolts up to the bottom of the dash to save my life! There is plenty of room above the bottom steering column cover though, so I just routed the wires in between the mount bracket and the bottom cover. Didn't want to drop the column as I have the whole dash and brake booster/master cylinder in place. Not much more skin left to lose. Need to heal a while before any more loss of flesh and blood:laughing: Art
