Hey Guys,
I own a stock 1990 ZR 1 with 28k miles.
I know that there is more in this motor.
What would you recomend to a moderately competent Saturday mechanic to 'turn it up a little'?
I love this car and I know that it is capable of more?
Any suggestions?
Thank you sincerely!,

Maybe gears and exhaust to start with. Might think about different heads, ram air system.

Doug Rippie and Lingenfelter have some effective mods that can be done in stages...

How about a set of taller gears ....since the zr-1 likes higher speeds/rpm's that would definetly be a plus!
Nah, depend what you want... HIGH MPH Highway blasts or Stoplight to stoplight blasts.

I think a PROM would help. I have my custom PROMs in 2 91 ZR1s and both of the owners are making 123mph Trap speeds with them, but they have more then what the Staurday afternoon Mechanic has done

AlZR1 and PeteZR1 on this forum are the guys

Headers, full B&B exhaust with an xpipe, K&N air filter and a custom PROM. If you want more grunt on the street throw in a 4:10 rear gear. Once you get all that done, spend the money to have the intake ported and polished. All this should put you near 400 RWHP.
