STS Baffles

I finally got around to installing the STS Baffles, then spent almost an hour getting the thing running. OK, I haven't given her the attention she deserves lately. Big change, going from open exhaust to the STS baffles. Sounds great. Jim said everyone had been drilling the end caps to 7/8- I didn't have a 7/8 bit, so I drilled 2 holes, 1/2" each, figuring if it was too loud I could hit it with the wire welder and close 'em up a bit. But it's almost too quiet. I still need to add a couple of bolts to the inside to keep the baffles from rattling, but I did get it out and drive it. Came back the pipes are a nice gray color, so that's good. Still have a list of projects- New plugs and wires, ignition box with rev limiter, wheels and tires, trans crossmenber, and getting rid of that &^%#$$ one wire alternator. It was dark when I drove it, so I'll get pictures next time.

I really like my STS so far !! did not drill any holes yet !! wanted to run them awhile !! just about the right sound now !!
slight tint of black out the ends but thats chicago driving !!
I'm looking forward to installing my STS baffles soon. going behind a sbc427 (550-600ish hp). Not sure if I should drill out the end caps or not. Jim suggested I start with them as is and go from there if it seems like I need to do some drilling.
This may be the place to post my Progress update:

I Got the STS Baffles in (Jim, YOUR DA MAN), No Holes in end caps, Maybe later?..Got the Demon installed and tuned (Thanks Lars), with the MSD and Baffles. Its running awsome..No Dyno yet, but Judging from my seat of the pants efforts Im close to realizing the 430HP 460TQ Goal with this new 383 roller engine:D .
I want to get a Video camera with sound doing a Little burn out and running it fast through the Gears up to about 90. Havent figured out how to make the video yet:huh:

Cheers all:cheers:
Never thought about this before, but does it make any difference which way the baffles go in (open end toward engine or toward exhaust exit)? Mine has the closed end toward the engine.
I'm using STS on my 79 and now will be putting a pair for my 65 coupe as well. Jim is a Great guy to deal with!:partyon:

:surprised OOPS! I put mine in BACKWARDS. I wanted to be able to weld up or open the ends.

Does it take 30 minutes to start like Tim's? :rolling:
 OUCH! Mine only sat there for 6 months before I decided to work on it. New toy has been eating up some (well OK, A LOT) of my time.
