Finally got the 76 started. After much frustration and second/third/fourth guessing myself and the wiring I got the starter working. Turns out the neutral saftey switch had not engaged when the car was last put in part. GRR! All that remains is to seal the gap left by the new starter with the flywheel and put the positive battery cable holders back on. Those dang holders are a bitch to get to.
