Hey i have a question out of curiosity, yesterday i took off the panel by the selt belt and i noticed that the t-tops have a sensor. when you lock them, the pin that inserts in the back pushes a button. I saw that this button is connected to one or two wires i dont remember any1 have any idea what is this for?:thud:

Lock the doors with a key, leave the windows down, take off a top. If it's working, the horn will sound, and the lights will flash. Turn key to unlock to reset.

I found this out the hard way at a local show last year. I had not owned my car very long and had no idea it was equipped with a factory alarm. At the end of the day, I load up everything to leave, and the *%#@^ing alarm starts going off, disables the starter, etc...
I spent several minutes pouring through the owners manual to figure out how to turn it off!
Very embarrassing...

Are the lights supposed to flash on the 79 model when the alarm goes off?

I have never armed my alarm. I am afraid that it won't disarm. I guess I will have to try it soon.
