Helping my brother inlaw put this together and get it running. Its a 53 chevy.
this will be my next upgrade for the camaro in a few years.
specs:
tall deck Donovan aluminum block
Scat 4340 Pro Comp Lightwt. Crank 3.8 stroke
titanium con rods
wisco forgeddished blower pistons
AFR 227 cnc race heads
7:1 comp ratio (static)
isky roller blower cam (dont have the specs)
AFR 1:6 ratio roller rockers (intake)
AFR 1:5 ratio roller rockers (exhaust)
AFR stud girdle
rev kit (crane)
weiand 6-71 polished blower
dual 650cfm demon alcohol carbs
unilite dist. with blower cap
MSD 6 BTM
blaster SS coil
custom hand made 2" ceramic headers

while its VERY impressive and looks great, and I appreciate the effort and parts list, that "Its a 53 chevy" may have killed off some interest on a corvette site:laughing:

BTW great pictures guy! I wish I could work a camera worth a darn:thumbsup:

What kind of 53 Chevy.....truck, coupe, sedan; how about a picture?
I like most any old car ot PU. The motor is a little over the top for me, but I appreciate what goes into the build $$$$$. What is your boither in law planning on doing with the car when it's finished?

could you post more info on those carbs? I'm doing some work with alcohol and need a carb tuned to use 100% pure ethanol. Thanks a bunch.

those are demon carbs set up for alcohol.
but I dont like demon carbs because sometimes you get a good one other times its bad.
I suggest AED alcohol carbs

they are flow tested and reworked at a real carb shop not a factory that just throws the parts on.

53 chevy club coupe
getting finishing touches on the tube frame now.
also backhalved the car to fit the 26 inch wide slicks

I always liked the early 50's Chevy body styles, especially when modified as a period sled. Your brother in law's coupe ought to look great when done. I'v seen a few 53-54 4-door models 4-sale recently. They are less desirable, but for someone interested in doing a top-chop can be made very attractive. Please, take some pictures of the back half job and show progress pictures. I don't know what happend to all those cool Chevys that used to appear at the drags. One can only hope they wern't recycled into Hondas.

ill ne taking pics once im back from portsmouth NH.
not a good time of the year to be working on the docks on a naval shipyard lol
btw ran the motor on the dyno last month
pulled almost 1600 hp at 7800 rpm
this is after a dual stage wet nitrous kit installed.

one bad azz motor for sure
