This morning I got into spouse's C6 to take a spin. Shut the driver's door and attempted to start the car. When I pushed the start button I got the "NO FOB DETECTED" message on the DIC.

No problem, seen this before, so I held up the FOB I was holding closer to the ignition. Still got the same message...hmmm...now what?

I then realized that I didn't have her FOB...dah...so, I decided to open the car door and get out to go get the right FOB...EXCEPT, the door pushbutton doesn't work now!....NO FOB, NO WORKY!

So, I'm sitting in the car...thinking...how do I get out? THEN, I remember the quick release lever at the floor panel next to the door! WHEW!

...first time I tested that lever too! Good thing it worked!

And, while they are trapped in the car, push it into a huge cargo container and have it shipped to Asia.

Wouldn't that be funny?

How did you get in the car with the incorrect fob in your pocket?
I wondered the same thing. Only thing I can figure is that she walked by the car with her FOB, it unlocked passively, and she walked away...her FOB "was" set up to only allow her to manually lock the car after departing vice passively (not any more!). :spanked:

GM really FOBBED UP the C-6. I have always been a fan of the "KISS" principle and this isn't.

Did you try the door unlock button, or just the door open button?

Both. First the door open...then door open...then door unlock...then door open...then slight panic...then the eject handle. Maybe the security system locked me in.:surprised

Remember, the car let me in (it was unlocked).

All these applications of "technology" for marketing purposes leaves me a little worried about safety. I think rapid egress is essential and must be initialted by the occupant instinctively in stressful situations such as accidents. I really don't want to remember where a secondary manual system that is rarely used is or how to operate it.

I agree, and feel that the emergency door opener should be placed on the door where you would expect it, as in 99.99% of cars!
