i have a turbo 400 leaking at the speed-o boss with to the local auto parts for a new o-ring surprise they have every size but the one i need. i also disscovered a v ring seal on the assembly that i think may be the culprit. where is a good place to purchase these seals. I was thinking of trying a local transmission shop.

There are 2 seals in/on the speedo. The O ring around the outside and a small seal on the driven gear hat's inside the adapter. Change them both, the little seal inside has a metal "snap" ring over it to hold it in place. Any trans shop should be able to get you the right parts. Also look at the plastic gear- it may have a groove worn into it. If it does, you need to replace it as well. Lube everything well with vaseline.

This is a particularly good tip. I replaced all of the seals on mine and it always leaked just a little until I changed tire size and replace the plastic gear. Poof! Leak disappeared.
