Transmission over temp warning comes on when I'm at the track. It takes about 10 minutes of hard use for it to come on. Granted it's Florida and it's been 90 plus degrees. I've been trying to find a system schematic to think of what might be going on. Anyone have any knowledge of the 2007 Z06 tranny system? Does it have a thermostat? An electrical or mechanical pump? Does it always send fluid through the cooler? Etc etc.....Thx!

as trans fluid temps go up transmission durability drops rapidly your stock trans fluid cooler in the lower radiator has never been designed to cope with performance stress loads, youll NEED an added cooler if your going to beat on the car

Great information, thanks! I'd like to get more, specific info about the C6 Z06 model. Chevy and their Engineers obviously have done lots of homework on these cars. I'd like to know how this system works. Maybe get some specific temp #'s , if the fluid constantly curculates or thermostatically controlled. There's a differential heat exchanger in the picture too. Any one with this model have similar issues? Thanks again.

Well I guess either there's no Corvette enthusiasts that get ON Digital Corvette or people don't experience a transmission overtemp issue. So for a follow up, after a rebuild install I got out on the track at Daytona again. It was 20 degrees cooler but I was using it harder, no problems? Seems like it might have been having internal issues. As opposed to cooling issues.

I've flogged the snot out of my GS on tracks, for days on end. Never had an issue. Granted it's not a Z06, but never had a problem.
