The Audi that won LeMans was making over 1000ft/lbs of torque. There are allot of high end cars that make some diesels that definitely dont sound like the old school diesels we are used to.
Theres allot potential there.

I have seen diesels now put in street rods and 60's cars such as Impalas. I think we will see sports cars from major manufacturers with diesels in the near future. Horsepower, torque, and better fuel economy is fine with me whatever you use as a power source.

Im going to call BS on this one, I do not believe a Duramax would fit in a C5 and I know for sure a cummins would not (yes there are other potential candidates for a motor but these are the two speculated in the other replies). There is also a lack of black smoke which I find suspicious. It is my conclusion that the sound was dubbed over the video. Show me that car with the hood open and I will eat my words.
