Below are the initial upgrades I plan to do to my C6. I've been doing a lot of research online, and for my budget ($2100) this seems like the best list of options.

Please, Please, Please provide any feedback you may have. I want to know if I'm making the right choice before I slap down that much money. If you think I'm an idiot for some of these upgrades, please let me know!!!!!

Thanks all!

1) CAGS Skip Shift Eliminator
2) K&N Aircharger
3) Borla 'Touring' Cat-Back (Quad 3.5" Round Tips)
4) Borla X-Pipe
5) Custom Colored Engine Covers (Lemans Blue with Red Lettering)
6) Darkest Legal Window Tinting

Looking forward to your opinions!!

Thanks,

Mike

I'm running that exact exhaust (oval tips tho)
with a haltech intake, sounds great, not too loud.
havent got the skip-shift yet but planning on it
and the blacked out looks great!!
I'd say you're on the right path!!

Sweet! Thanks... glad to hear someone else is thinking along the same lines...

So you have the touring exhaust? any regrets with that? I was considering the 'Stinger' setup, but I'm worried that living in an apartment complex it might piss off the neighbors a bit

well tough to say, sometimes i think i wish it was a little
louder at idle. but overall i'm very happy.
I think it sounds (and looks) much better than stock.
the stinger's cool and if i was 20 not 40 i might go for it. :D
but i took out a newer GTO in a quick race that was so loud i could'nt even hear my car! (i was just watching my tach in the heads up)
so there's more to be said than just being loud.
I dont think there would be a huge performance difference
between them to justify the loudness
someday i'll get some headers, thats the real performance upgrade  Good Luck

Hi Mike,

I’ve been following your posts the last week or so, and I am considering a similar setup as well. Are you still considering rmcorvettes to do the work? How much HP / Torque gain are you expecting with your mods? Also are you planning to get a tune as well?

Thanks,
Mike

PM Sent regarding my choice with Rocky Mountain Corvettes.

With regards to HP, my goal is 400 to the wheels (roughly 450 at the crank). This car is going to be my daily driver, so I don't want anything too extreme.

I will need a computer tune to get the F/A mixture right, but i'm going to wait until the end of the summer when I move back down to sea level

I think that is a good combination, and a great starting point. The only thing I would change is the exhaust. I would definitely go with the "Stinger"
I would love to go with the stinger, but this car is going to be my daily driver, and I'm worried it would get a little annoying after a while... any thoughts?

no offense but the stinger catback alone is not going to "piss off the neighbors".

not unless you add some lt's w/ o/r xpipe

and it is not like you will be stomping on the gas through the apt. complex

i suggest go with stingers!

 That seems to be the consensus... I might have to just balls up and go for it. After all, I am in my twenties and can get the subdued exhaust later in life

Looks like a good list.

FYI, a tune will wake your car up and eliminate the need for the CAGS SSE.

Does anyone have any sound clips comparing the Borla touring to the stinger?

I second that question... is that something i can do at a jiffy lube? or do i have to find a specialty shop?

sorry but no you can not get a tune @ jiffy lube

they barely can change oil right.... you would if fact have to find a specialty shop as you put it. preferably one with experience in c6 vettes

Well shucks:rolleyes:

I figured i'd have to find a specialty shop. Thanks for the info, POACHR :partyon:

Anyone out there have any experience with the Stinger Intake with the CAI option? its like an extra $100... it might be worth it, who knows
