Almost every year I see guys buy a project car ,most guys are without a clue as to the engine condition or size, they take the sellers word for it and in most cases that's fine but you do occasionally see guys get screwed on these deals so read thru the links for more info giving you some place to start from on your research.
I had one guy buy a performance intake to spice up his recently purchased on ebay,454 powered 66 chevelle project only to find it was a 366 bbc when the intake didn,t fit (which explained a good deal about the lack of tq)

Good info. I've often wondered why they don't just find a flat spot and stamp "JUN21/67 427". Don't they know that info should be easy to decipher 30-40 years later?

Great info!

I'd think a visit to the seller after being told it was a 454, when it wasn't, would be in order. :spanked:

Wow what a collection of info! Just spent about 15 min of cut and paste (blatant stealing). I learned a long time ago when you find nuggets like this get them right away.
So many times they will be gone when you need them. Also nice so when my computer goes south I can say "I had some really good stuff on there"
Thanks for the effort and info
