The link is my navigators review of race, link is him and I in the blue car and our good friend in red C6 messing with each other at 170mph. About a mile up the road we were about 30 ft off his bumper. We race at these speeds (and faster) all the time and this is on a closed road.

Mike and Marsha

The couple that made the SORR video are owners of the company that we race with.

sperkins, JeffyVette may choose to share some photos from the past.
None of the videos fully convey the seriousness of the matter at hand.

JeffyVette, am I right in concluding that a noise-cancelling microphone
is muting the audio in your video or is the cabin truly that quiet?

Also, in watching/listening to the couple in the SORR videos, I get the
sense that if the driver provided more feedback to the navigator that
this might make her job easier. His verbal acknowledgement would
cue her to move on to the next direction with confidence.

There are a few times where I feel that the driver may not have
understood how much time he had available to run at full power before
needing to spool back down for a corner - as a result, it looks like he
backs out of full power a crest and another length of straight before he
needs to two times, perhaps. This is an observation, not a criticism of
either the driver or the navigator.

JeffyVette, as someone who has run these events at these speeds, is it
feasible for the driver to make brief replies

Navigator: "Immediate right, 112. 160, 112."

Driver: "Right, 112."

Or is there too much going on for him to break concentration and reply?

It might be revealing to compare vocal analysis charts from the audio in
the SORR video to charts of recordings of these people speaking at a campfire.

In car noise.

My car is FRICKIN loud. My nav and I wear custom for our ears molded ear plugs with the intercom ear plugs molded in. The roads I run are not consistently as turny as you see in the SORC vid. Yes, my nav and I talk back and forth on every turn and straight. I do respond to his directions. He also lets me know how the car is running. All the gages are on his side of the car. That is part of his job, my job is to drive. At 200+mph you don't want me taking my eyes off the road, stuff is happening too fast.
