I have LG Pro LT's, no cats, B&B Bullets, CAI, G5X4 cam. and only a street tune. I made 391 rwhp and 382 ft/lbs. Does that sound right for that cam and if I had a dyno tuned too will it make more power. My best time at the track (1/8 mile) was a 7.4 @ 96. I kinda thought that since I went that time and mph I was good for 420-430 hp. Let me know your opinions.

Oh my friends vette had same setup except he had the G5X3 and madfe 415 rwhp and 398 ft/lbs and ran a 7.6 @ 93 I know every car is different but I thought the G5X4 was a bigger stronger cam?

Thanks for the inputs

you need some heads and an intake to let that monster cam breathe

:agree: I know, I just paid $4k for lasik and have my second son due anytime sec now so my Corvette funds are low. Will try to pick up a cheap LS6 intake soon, but heads will have to wait. Ive been talking to a lot of tuners and they all said my tune is off and I need a retune.

Same numbers i got with TRAK cam. intake is key, SLP sells them brand new for under $400. Also the vararam held me back a bit. the tune is very key. Also all dynos are different, another place i had my car dyno at was 20 hp higher using different correction factors. great numbers though, i would have Jeremy look at your tune.

It is hard to get over the 400 rwhp mark with the simple mods you have done. Invest in some performance heads and that will put you in a 435 to 445 rwhp range.

Was it the same dyno? Were tehy Mustang Dyno's or DynoJet's?

Different dyno's have different calibrations and a Mustang will read lower, but give a better tune because of it's load. It simulates driving the car on a road.

Weather will play a big effect in dyno numbers too. If it's hot and humid, your numbers will be lower than if it's cool out (air density).

I also agree with the others that said you should have your tune checked. It can't hurt.

Last but not least, Please don't get caught up in the dyno numbers thing because people forget that a dyno is a tuning tool. The real world is the track and from your posted numbers, I find it odd that your E.T and your trap speeds are lower and higher than his car that made more power.

The E.T can be explained by possibly a better short time on your part, but higher trap speeds indicate that you're making more power than him. Just my .02 and you get what you pay for!:D

It was the same dyno, a Dynojet. It was also very humid out. Im going to get the tune checked out after my Lasik surgery and my Son is born (any second now) I had a friend who went to Vengenous and made 431 (Trans Am w/ MS4) and went to the same dyno as I did and he only put down 400. So I guess that dyno was off (if thats possible) Im more worried about my tune now then anything. Im going as soon as I can and I know its not too hard to make over 400 rwhp with my mods. Seen and watched people make over that with same mods and smaller cams. But o'well thanks everyone for you info.
