what brand of shocks is stock?

So I was thinking that the ride on my 94 was pretty stiff and wondering how one would know that the shocks needed replacing as I went over some railroad tracks and heard them squeak as the car went up and down. Looked and found out it has yellow bilstein sp? shocks on it already. What brand was stock on this year vette and how do you know when the shocks need to be replaced. I am currently just doing preventative maintenance, wires, o2 sensor type things and was curious thanks!

Stock shocks for '94 were Bilstein Heavy Duty.

Look at the bottom part of the shock, and if you see evidence of a fluid leak (it may look like a big dirty grease spot), then it's time to change 'em.

My '95 has about 55k on it, and I recently replaced mine - and it made a tremendous difference in the way it handles and rides.
