Hi,

I have a 75 corvette with the stock 350 engine in it.
Now it seems that this one only has 165HP, and that sucks....

I was looking to buy a new engine with some more power but don't realy know what to get can you all give me some advice.

I use the car as a weekend driver.

These are the engines I had my mind set on

http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevySmallBlockV8s/355.html

http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevySmallBlockV8s/SalleeZZ430HP.html

or
http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevySmallBlockV8s/PUZZ4.html

and go with option 4

What do you all think or are there other good engines out there that I should look at

A lot depends on how you plan to use the car. Will you be racing it or using it strictly on the street. You'll also want to find out the price difference on options 1 - 4. How much more are you willing to pay for the 35 extra horsepower. Whatever you choose, looks like some pretty nice upgrades, good luck.:)

Well I would use it mainly on the street but I still want to get some decent power out of the V8.

The first one costs $3,650.00

Second $4,695.00

Third $4,995.00

What do you think is it woth the extra $$ or is the difference in power not worth the extra $$ ??

Thanks in advance.

Option #1 has serious power to start with.

I see option 2 says they upgrade to the Edelbrock RPM mainfold if you have hood clearance. For $600 more you can do the Hotcam kit that's in option 4 to the #1 and that should get the #1 to about 405+ hp. If you're doing the install yourself that will negate any labor cost and the extra $$$ would be nice to have. If not, then I'd call around and find out how much a swap would cost. I bet it'd be close to eating whatever budget is left over from just option 1.

I see also where it says you'll need a 750cfm carb and headers. Do you have both of those? That's where the extra dough saved from doing it yourself would come in handy. ;)

I'm with War Machine here. You really have to look at the labor of the swap to keep your buget.

I know that we all want that little extra, and of course power is that ans,but if your wallet is big,and driving is say a little short(No disrespect)go with what you think you can handle.I would not want to see a bad post.:buhbye: ;)

its hard to beat that ZZ4 for the money.its very reliable also.i dont know if it fits in the budget, but a good fuel injection set-up on that would be killer.then some long tube headers and your done with that.i had a 77' i was going to do this to,but ended up buying a 89' with that money instead.just my opinion.depends on your local emissions possibly also.:buhbye:

Well first of all thanks for all the replies.

Emissions rules don't aply on cars older than 25years(In Belgium), so I can do what I want.

Isn't that too much of a hastle installing an injection system ??
I mean you will need a computer extra fuel pump, etc...

Well I'll check it out

But I was looking for more power (still have the stock 165HP engine in it) and better fuel economy because now I think most of the fuel is getting blown out at the sides :D .

If I drive 60Mph I get 9.4MPG so that sucks especialy that 1US Gallon costs $ 4.87 over here.:(

Thanks to all

OK, I just looked around and found this fuel injection engine

http://www.sallee-chevrolet.com/ChevySmallBlockV8s/Ram_Jet_350.html

Is there somebody that has one of those or can tell me if it is that easy to install ?
And most of all will it fit under my hood ?????

Would this be worth the extra 1000$ over the ZZ4 with 355 HP ?
I am thinking of acceleration and fuel economy.

maybe edelbrock fuel injection,or a similar kit, comes with intake manifold, fuel rails, computer, and other goodies.theres other companys also.www.tpis.com they can make what ever you want pretty much.and drop it on top the ZZ4.you will pay a little, but the power and fuel milage, drivability all get way better.but its also what ever you can afford.aloha.

OK now I have three options

- go with the standard ZZ4 engine.

- Go with the RAM JET 350 Engine

- Get the ZZ4 engine and install the Edelbrock Performer RPM Pro- Flo EFI System.

I have a budget of around 5000$ so they all are around that amount except the ZZ4+Edelbrock setup, but I might drop the extra 500$ if the system is better than the rest .

Is there anybody that has one of these setups or someone that can give me advice ...

Thanks:cheers:
