Looks like cadmium. But I doubt it is real cadmium plating. It is the eastwood cadmium look-a-like?

You're thinking of Cadmium... yea, that looks like it, but most likely not... I have seen some spray paints on the market that imitate the look. Check out Eastwood.

Looks like "gold" cadmium to me. If it's paint, it's a great job.

It looks like the Eastwood Copy Cadmium paint to me. I have some parts painted with it and they look good and seem durable. Application of the paint is "technique" sensitive however. It's easy to make it look like crap.

I was figuring I would have to paint them with a silver base also. I have this stainless steel paint that should work perfectly.

The gold finish is zinc plating that has been yellow normalised, they electroplate the parts first and then in another step convert the surface of the zinc layer into zinc chromate which is gold colored.

The arms are dull because they have been sandblasted, if you wire brush the parts and scrub them with steel wool before having them coated they will shine like the sway bar bushing straps

There isn't really any plating company's here. And if I found one it would be very expensive. I'll have to try the eastwood kit.

I have a lot of stuff plated the same way @ a local plant. All the gold colored parts on my car are yellow normalized plating. Usually I have stuff replated also as soon as I get them, like motor mounts, tranny mounts, sway bar hardware...that kind of stuff (even brake shields) because the plating they come with is usually very crappy and thin.

that sway bar doesn't look like crap, it's just a little pitted...was probably rusty before plating. Anyway, it sure looks like it's upside down from the angle of the ends. A sure way to bend the frame horns

what does it matter anyway. After one summer of driving it will be all caked up with grease and dirt. Now that is beautifull to me.

I highly doubt they plated it in the as found condition, looks PAINTED to me.
