I also own a 2005 with about $30k in mods. Everyone I talk to says the mods bring basically $0.00 dollars to the party when it comes time to sell, especially engine mods. Extreme engine/drivetrain mods can actually decreae the value of the car.
Personally, I would never consider buying a modded car unless I was very familiar with the owner and builder. Especially the owner. I know of some guys who beat the crap out of their cars to the point I wouldn't give them a dime for it.

That is a good lookin' car.
Is it your's or are you considering to purchase?

One thing to consider is that if this was a SEMA specific car, it may not have much usage, and could possibly be a great deal for someone.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I know the owner and builder very well. The owner is looking to sell so he may put toward purchase a Vanquish S (sp?). The car rarely gets driven. Pretty sweet car, just not sure it is worth 50k!

I think there are a couple of big questions that you need to ask and answer yourself before a "value to you" can be assessed.
1. If you bought this car, how long do you plan to own / drive it?

If you plan to re-sell it in less than a couple of years, the market value should be weighted heavier than the value to you.

2. What else could you get for $50k and what are the differences in features, performance and WARRANTY?

We all know that late model modified vettes typically do not re-sell as well as pure stock. However, if done well, a "SEMA car" could at least partially off set this generality. If you plan to keep the car long term, as it ages, the documentation you have could help keep the resale value high, but it will always appeal to a smaller market than a stock ... say Z06.
