That is a full Callaway body kit. Here is the front! It is a 96 GS, we believe it is the only one with a Callaway body.basecorvette said:I was wondering the same things that hawaii was. The 96 GS doesn’t have the vents behind the tires like that one does right? Is it a real Callaway? I have never seen a GS Callaway, but there are a lot of things I have never seen before.
The flares are glued on, I believe. The fenders are stock C4 issue.hawaii-5-lo said:do you know if its a real callaway?i thought 95 was the last year.this is interesting,my next car is going to be a calloway, but if theres G.S. calloways i might have to put off that big bear chopper.question for G.S. owners.is the rear flare bolted to the fender?or is the flare the fender?hope that makes sense.im trying to see if the rear fender is wider than the stock c4?or is the whole rear clip wider like the ZR-1?.are the hash marks decals?no offense,i will remove them.
hum...calloway G.S. i like that.
GS coupes, rear tires are 315/35'shawaii-5-lo said:what is the stock rear tire size?is he really pulling the g.s.boat with that car,he didnt read his manual.i like that car,he could find an junkyard calloway(doubtful)and make his own.:stick: i would try.
This is wrong. My car (GS #007) was the first to have the flares bolted on. I'm the original owner, although it did spend time in MI since it was a Pilot car and then sold via GM auction.Michael Malone Smith said:Guys.... so many questions. The flares are bolted on. Only the first 15 GS's had there lips put on with double stick tape.
Prison? That sucks.:down:SurfnSun said:Hey guys, yes that car is only a Callaway body kit. It doesn't have the SNAT motor. He also has one of the Callaway Wet Vettes with a GS paint scheme as well. Both car and boat have been on Ebay in the last year. The boat just last week. I had heard he going to prison.
Yep... being crooked or into crime may pay of in the short term, but eventually you'll get busted.Clemson Vette said:ok here's the deal. i know the former owner of that car. i have seen it in person multiple times. it was sold several months or a year ago to the guy you fellas know. the former owner, who shall remain nameless, was a man who i found to be really crooked. i was 17 and bought my first vette from him. big mistake. i also made the mistake of letting him work on it which he gummed up real bad. i parted ways and that was it. i heard that he was going to prison on fraud or some bull like that. i wasnt surprised. talk about a liar! as far as i know the callaway was legit. it is a brand new car up close. it does have the LT4 and is all stock. it is also signed by john? callaway on the roof panel i believe. the only mod that was done was the smoothie engine covers that were put on it. i went to the place where it was, in easley SC, and asked about where the callaway went. he said he sold it and was buying a ZR1 callaway. i'm like MMMM k. as for the boat, no the car has no trailer hitch. the boat is a one of a kind GS Vette boat. has some really hot motor in it. it's a legit callaway/ boatmaker product. he has a plaque from where he ordered all the stuff on it. lots of nice things like the hash marks on the wrong side due to right hand steering of a boat. only one spare and tires are directional so he had to choose which side he got. red interior. when this man owned it, it had never been in the water, which is a shame in my book. i hadnt heard that it had sold but i havent been to his store in a long time either. all i know is the man who bought the car got a very nice one. the man who maybe bought the boat got a very very rare boat that would be a blast to drive and have fun with. as for the former owner of these two, be glad you dont know him. to the new owners, take care of these machines and keep em legit. this goes to show that crime doesnt pay and neither does being a butthole!
