Well done X cutter, great idea. I made an amazing rear facia protector from some home depot items my self. Alot better and more professional looking then those stupid "bumper badgers" I will post pics at another time. Thanks for the tip.
Thanks everyone else for their info i did wind up going with the chrome mesh as it turns out.

How hard is it to install these things? Do you have to take off fender or wheel? I just ordered some, hopefuly they will come in soon.

Easy install. They even come with a tutorial.
1.Jack up car on one side and remove wheel
2.Remove splash cover. 6 push pins
3.Remove screws from underside of splash cover. 5 or 6 of them 1/4" drive
4.Wipe inside fender with alcohol.
5.Use 3M tape to stick mesh to fender.(Buy and extra roll like 3 bucks at a autostore in clear.
6.Buy small tube of clear silicone at autostore. Put nice bead around ends of mesh for supertight seal. That's it and go to other side.
There is a loom that is taped to the fender. You can remove it from the fender and then stick it back after the mesh insert application. #M tape is all it is. There is a link on here with pics on how to install too.

Great idea with the gutter guard --- I had searched my Home Depot for something i could hack apart and make grill guards... I don't know how I missed the gutter guard section.

Thanks !

The car doesn't have to be jacked up, you can do it on the ground just by moving the steering wheel to get the appropriate angle.

Take the advice and use the 3M double side tape or some additional means of fastening other than what comes with the kit (especially if you get them from WCC). I just had to redo mine after a few months. Not terribly hard to do, but a pain in the ass nonetheless.

Go with the mesh, i've gotten good compliments on mine...although the Home Depot special looks pretty cool.

You guys SO ROCK!!!!

Finally my black mesh ones came in after 6 months on back order!:WTF My husband tried to install them for me and he gave up and said they would just fall out. So I just use more of the adhesive tape and a silicone to get it to stick better? He told me to forget it and he would just use the screens for his 68 Mustang.:surprised I can't let that happen now!:spanked:

I spent many a Saturday morning as a kid watching that... Tell your kids don't rush to grow up, its not everything its put up to be!
 Well, as with most things in life, they've grown up and moved on with their lives. Therefore, I shall endever to apply your suggestion to myself. That way, as I regress with age, I can tell all, "I was duly fore warned!" :D
